Please note that
we now have a no-smoking policy in all of our
cottages.
What time can I arrive?
Arrival time is between 3:30pm and 6pm. If we are able to offer an
earlier arrival time, we will note this on your final confirmation. To
ensure that each cottage is thoroughly cleaned and prepared to the
standards that you would expect, we ask that you do not arrive earlier
than this time. If you are going to arrive after 6pm, please call us to
make appropriate arrangements to pick up the keys to your cottage.
What time do I have to leave?
The latest time of departure is 10am.
Are your cottages non-smoking?
Yes - all our cottages are non-smoking although you may
smoke outside the cottages. We ask guests to respect this policy and
please note that we reserve the right to charge for a commercial clean if
this rule is broken.
Can I bring my pet?
We welcome well-behaved dogs (but no other pets) in all cottages except
Little Shippen by prior arrangement only and subject to our ‘doggy rules’
(see terms and conditions). There is a
limit of one dog in Huel and two in Farm, Barn and Shippen. We ask you to
read our terms and conditions relating to dogs and ensure that you can
comply with them before you make a booking for your dog.
What facilities are there in Herodsfoot?
Although not isolated, we are in a very quiet rural area. Herodsfoot is
a peaceful hamlet with no shops or pub - just a church, post box and phone
box. There are small shops, post office and pubs within two miles and a
large supermarket in Liskeard (5 miles).
Are your cottages suitable for disabled visitors?
Please call us to discuss any special requirements; we will do all we
can to accommodate your needs. Please note that these are old, stone
cottages which unfortunately are not suitable for wheelchair users.
Shippen and Little Shippen cottages have a bedroom, bathroom, toilet and
kitchen on the ground floor with only two steps, making them suitable for
people with limited mobility. Unfortunately Barn is not suitable for those
with mobility problems as it is accessed via a flight of steps.
What linen do you provide?
We provide sheets, pillowcases, duvets + covers, towels
and tea-towels. Please bring your own beach towels.
Are Cots, Highchairs and Stair Gates available?
Yes, these are available free of charge - please indicate your
needs on the booking form. Please note Little Shippen is
not suitable for cots. We do not supply cot bedding.
Does the cottage have a VCR or DVD?
Each cottage has a colour TV with 30channel FreeView and VCR.
We can provide a DVD Player for a hire charge of £10 per week -
please request at time of booking. DVDs and Video tapes can be hired from the
Spar Shop at Dobwalls.
What about Heating and Electricity?
Each cottage has night store heating, which is included in
the hire charge (from October to May) and will be made available if the
weather turns cold at other times. All other electricity is supplied via £1 slot meters. In Shippen and Farm, the first basket of logs
is free. Additional logs are available at £2 per basket.
Is there anything else I should know?
Roads - access into Herodsfoot is by narrow lanes.
Mobile phones - there is no service in our valley. Please note that we
have a payphone on site but it does not accept incoming calls.
Please note that
we now have a no-smoking policy in all of our
cottages.
